Manuscript Submission Guidelines

Authors submitting manuscripts to the Journal of Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications (ISSN: 1007-5321 | Impact Factor: 6.2) are requested to follow the procedures outlined below to ensure a smooth submission and publication process.

Steps for Submitting and Publishing a Research Paper

The journal invites original, unpublished research papers not under consideration elsewhere. Submissions may include theoretical and/or experimental work, and all manuscripts are evaluated through a double-blind peer review process.

Step 1: Prepare Your Manuscript

  • Structure your manuscript with standard sections: Abstract, Introduction, Related Work, Research Methods, Results, Conclusion, References, etc.
  • Format the document according to the journal’s recommended template (sample templates available for download).
  • Ensure compliance with ethical standards, including originality, proper citations, and conflict-of-interest disclosure.

Step 2: Submit Your Manuscript

  • Submit your manuscript by sending it to the Editor’s email: [editor@buptjournal.org] (replace with actual email).
  • You will receive an acknowledgment email confirming receipt of your submission.

Step 3: Initial Editorial Screening

  • The editorial board will review the submission for scope, formatting, and adherence to ethical guidelines.
  • Manuscripts that meet the initial screening proceed to peer review; others may be returned for revision or rejected.

Step 4: Double-Blind Peer Review

  • Manuscripts are sent to independent reviewers for evaluation.
  • Reviewers assess the paper against ten key criteria (see below).
  • Possible outcomes: Accepted, Minor Revisions, Major Revisions, or Rejected.

Step 5: Review Criteria (10-Point Evaluation)

Each manuscript is evaluated on the following:

  1. Relevance of the Title and Research Content
  2. Scholarly Quality and Academic Rigor
  3. Continuity and Flow of the Article
  4. Use of Theory and Conceptual Framework
  5. Novelty and Originality
  6. Technical Accuracy and Correctness
  7. Clarity of Explanation, Figures, and Illustrations
  8. Critical Analysis and Depth of Discussion
  9. Quality and Relevance of References
  10. Clarity and Strength of Conclusions

Step 6: Review Decision

  • Authors are notified by email, typically within 1–2 days, or up to a week in some cases, depending on reviewer availability.

Step 7: Acceptance & Publication Process

If your manuscript is accepted, the following steps are required:

  • Payment of the publication fee (submit proof such as screenshot or receipt).
  • Completion and submission of the Copyright Permission Form and Registration Form (fillable PDFs available).
  • Editorial verification of payment and submitted forms.

Step 8: Final Publication

  • Upon verification, the manuscript is published online, typically within 1–2 days.
